April 2014 Intergroup Meeting Minutes

1.     Discussed who would bring the National Meeting Registration Forms to meetings in the five boroughs. National wants every meeting held to register with the National Organization.
 
2.     Discussed getting the CoDa literature stored at Trinity Church. Speaking to someone at the Community Church about storing literature at this location.
 
3.     Spoke about that CoDa NYC attracts a decent amount of newcomers, however, there seems to be a problem with retention. Discussed measure to help retain newcomers including:
a.)   Focus more on Steps at meeting
b.)  Setting up a meeting for beginners
c.)   Making an announcement at each meeting who would like to volunteer to be a newcomer greeter at the end of the meeting.
Motion made for a newcomer greeters announcement to be made at meetings.
Motion voted on. Motion failed.
 
4.     Discussed the idea of finding more sponsors and co-sponsors including:
a.)   Sponsor section on website
b.)  Specific meeting held to attract people to sponsorship
c.)   Sponsorship meeting time at an Intergroup meeting
Motion made to have a special sponsorship time at the next Intergroup meeting.
Motion voted on. Motion failed.
 
5.     Discussed forming a sub-committee to make revisions to the meeting format.
Motion voted on. Motion passed.
 
6.     Treasury Report: Treasury / 578.79
                                   Petty cash / 227.71
                                       Total:      806.50
 
7.  Discussed newcomers. One person said how there is a newcomer’s handbook. Another mentioned how in their group people to greet newcomer’s after the meeting. Idea of group meeting for newcomer’s again proposed. Decided that we should take CoDa to the group and not the other way around. More discussion to be continued.
